Dr.
Robin Skrine came to Texas in October of 2006 and
has quickly adapted to life here. She completed her
medical training at Jefferson Medical College in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then traveled to New
Jersey where she undertook a six year residency
program in general surgery. Having completed this
program in 1997 she returned to PA to begin a
practice in general surgery with an emphasis on
breast diseases. Being drawn to the care of breast
patients in particular, in 2002 she spent a year
receiving extra training. She fine-tuned her craft
at the Breast Care Specialist where she worked with
nationally-respected breast surgeon Dr. Mark
Gittleman. She then practiced exclusively as a
breast surgeon at Lehigh Valley Women’s Cancer
Center until relocating to Texas. After a brief stay
in Waco she has joined the doctors at Southlake
Oncology and Las Colinas Cancer Center, where she
works under the practice name Texas Breast Care.
She is board certified in General Surgery and a
Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She also
holds membership in the American Society of Breast
Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons, American
Medical Association and the Texas Medical
Association.
Dr. Skrine believes the breast care should be
compassionate, state-of -the- art and timely. The
mission statement of Texas Breast Care read: Texas
Breast Care exists to provide the women of North
Texas with comprehensive, compassionate and
state-of-the-art breast care. This will be done with
the best available expertise, educational tools and
technology aimed at the prevention, early detection
and treatment of breast cancer and other associated
breast diseases. All of the care provided will take
place in a warm, compassionate and time-sensitive
environment, sensitive to the patient’s needs. She
holds herself and her staff to each aspect of this
mission statement.
Dr. Skrine and her husband of 15 years have two
daughters ages 8 and 11. She and her family have
always been involved with their church. Dr. Skrine
also enjoys reading, skiing and ballet. But here
favorite pastime is spending time with her family.
Dr. Skrine states, “I bring expertise regarding the
care of breast patients, as well as compassion and
my own personal interest in the disease, as it has
struck my family as well. It would be my honor to
care for you or your family member at this trying
time.”
