Dr. Mackey is a native Texan from the town of Richardson. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from UT Austin, and then completed his internship and internal medicine residency at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He received subspecialty training for medical oncology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, and worked in Dallas for 3 years prior to relocating his practice. Dr. Mackey is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
Dr. Mackey has joined the Southlake Oncology team to provide personalized care and cancer treatments to patients. Dr. Mackey strives to make your cancer treatment therapy as comfortable and convenient as possible. He believes in caring for the whole patient and approaching cancer treatment with ‘responsible aggressiveness’. He begins with a foundation of solid, evidence-based medicine and builds on it with clinical research and nutrition. In his spare time, Dr. Mackey enjoys working on the restoration of his 1930’s-era historic home in Dallas. He also enjoys restoring old cars.
